A notícia de sua gravidez, em abril, repercutiu no noticiário principalmente porque ela teria vencido o seu 23º grande Slam, na Austrália, com dois meses de gravidez.

E Serena confirmou a história:

“Fato divertido: as iniciais da minha filha são AO, como do torneio australiano que ela ganhou comigo, Australian Open”.
